PARADISE OF BEDLAMS

Foes we fought, once friends we knew, Their scars endure, though stamps fade too. An adviser came, in boat disguised, To kill our pride, another’s rise. Like Ebola, they whiten our trade, Agbada shunned, our roots betrayed.

A land forsaken, Golgotha’s weight, Like Manchester’s feats, we meet our fate. Their pranks draw eyes, their schemes take root, Some blend, some clash, yet all dispute. Respected by few, refuted by more, Their cunning invests where trust is torn.

Color builds walls, culture’s displaced, No room remains in future’s space. Oracles strike, deities flee, Like birds in nests, they seek reprieve. Our lands seized, our minds confined, Nationalists stripped, their dreams maligned.

They know our tears, yet chain our years, With scornful cheers, they fuel our fears. O Father, when will Thy kingdom come, To free this earth from terror’s drum?
